Best Facial Wax Strips for Long-Lasting Smooth Skin

best facial wax strips

I’ve been a user and a researcher for the best facial wax strips for many years now. Writing this article is indeed a pleasure.

However, since some women haven’t had a good experience with cold facial wax strips, I thought of also reviewing an alternative in the form of a microwavable hard wax kit.

Best Facial Wax Strips: Top 3 Picks

1. The Best: Veet Facial Hair Remover Cold Wax Strips

The price is a bit high for the number of strips that a package contains but I still think that they’re probably the best option.

2. The Cheapest: Nad’s Hypoallergenic Facial Wax Strips

These are really good wax strips for the face and the bonus is that you get a lot of them for a really low price, frankly they’re impressive, you probably won’t need to buy them again for quite a long time.

3. The Alternative: VidaSleek Hard Wax Kit: Face, Underarms & Bikini Hair Remover

If cold facial wax strips have disappointed you, here’s the alternative: a microwavable hard wax kit that’s easy to use and removes all types of hairs.

9 Best Facial Wax Strips Reviews

Waxing strips are amazing and I have known that for a long time.

However, I have a confession to make:

At the moment, I am using my Braun Silk Epil 9561 to remove my facial hair. Using an epilator is a bit more painful than waxing but overall there are a lot of similarities between the two methods so I adapted to it pretty easily.

Using them at home is just as easy as using an epilator with a facial cap attached.

It’s also much cheaper than going to a beauty salon every 3 weeks or so for a professional waxing.

If you have decided to give it a try , let’s reviews some of the best facial wax strips for at home use.

1. Veet Facial Hair Remover Cold Wax Strips

The main thing to be said about the Veet is that these are the cheapest and some of the best facial wax strips you can buy.

They’re simply great and I truly recommend them.

The price is great, the quality is really good as long as you succeed in making a quick pulling so there’s nothing to really complain about.

There are 10 double sided strips or 20 wax strips for face. Plus 4 wipes, called Perfect Finish Wipes, for removing residues.

The wipes simply contain oil that easily dissolves wax. You don’t have to use the wipe only once and then throw it. I use each wipe several times because they still have plenty of oil to remove the residues during several hair removal sessions.

If you throw the wipes away, use vegetable or olive oil instead. It works just as great.

The Veet Facial Hair Remover Cold Wax Strips work great. They remove facial hairs from the root, whether peach fuzz or coarse hairs. All you have to do is to pull each strip quickly and without any hesitations.

If you hesitate, you risk being stuck with most of the wax on your face. And that’s true for any waxing kit.

2. Nad’s Hypoallergenic Facial Wax Strips

Nad’s Hypoallergenic Facial Wax Strips are medium-priced. They work just as great as the above strips, as long as you use them correctly.

There are 12 double sided strips so 24 facial wax strips and it’s a pack of 2. Each pack also contains 2 wipes for residues removal.

The Nad’s Hypoallergenic Facial Wax Strips do their job really well so I can understand why they are pretty popular among users.

3. Gigi Hair Removal Strips for The Face

My third suggestion for one of the best facial wax strips is also one the cheapest.

But are they any good?

Yes, they are. Actually, I think I saved the best for last.

Frankly,

These strips for face from Gigi are totally worth a try. Their price is fantastic.

The package contains 12 double sided strips. Plus a post-epilation lotion for removing the residues.

It’s not in the form of wipes but in a tiny bottle.

It also moisturizes but I think that you should also be using your usual cream after waxing to sooth the irritated skin.

From all these three wonderful options for some of the best facial wax strips, I choose Veet and have been doing so for many years.

They have a good price-quality ratio but those from Gigi are good, too. They also have one of the best at home waxing kits.

4. Nair Hair Remover Wax Ready Strips Face and Bikini

This is an interesting set of wax strip. These are actually designed both for facial hair removal and for the bikini area.

That’s definitely an interesting combination because most of our hairs on the face and thin and fine, while the hairs in the bikini area are some of the coarsest on the body.

I generally don’t recommend doing a Brazilian waxing with strips, you absolutely need hard wax. I could see strips being used on the bikini line if your hairs are on the softer side. It works for those who have been waxing for years and now they just want some cheap bikini wax strips.

Even though this box comes with 40 wax strips and 4 post wipes, the price is one of the cheapest.

However, I must tell you that there are a lot of negative reviews about this kit so read those reviews carefully and determine for yourself if the cheap price is worth it.

I would much prefer the facial wax strips from Veet or Nad’s. Or maybe you would prefer some hard wax that can be used for more areas on the body and face.

5. VidaSleek Hard Wax Kit: Face, Underarms & Bikini Hair Remover

This is one of my favorites hard wax for face. However, wax strips remain the easiest to use for facial hair removal because once you get them out of the box, they’re ready to be used.

Hard wax always wins and the VidaSleek Hard Wax Kit for Face is the perfect alternative to the best facial wax strips.

It receives bonus points for the fact that it can be used to remove hairs from the underarms and bikini area, as well.

You can’t do that with cold facial wax strips, those are exclusively for face, just like their name suggests, because they’re too small.

It would take forever on larger areas.

The VidaSleek Hard Wax Kit for Face:

  • it’s microwavable so, it’s easy to use by anyone and you don’t need to buy a warmer
  • 3.5 oz microwavable hair removal wax
  • there are also 2 wooden spatulas and 2 soothing post depilatory wipes included
  • wash the wooden spatulas and they can be used again
  • heat it for 3 minutes
  • if you only use it for facial hair removal, the wax will remain warm and liquid, you won’t need to reheat it
  • being hard wax, there’s no muslin strips needed to remove it
  • apply the hard wax using a wooden spatula in the direction of hair growth, let it on the skin until it hardens, lift a corner a bit and remove it in the opposite direction of hair growth
  • just like with cold facial strips, pull off the wax quickly and swiftly

It’s a great kit for coarse hairs as well as thin ones.

If you’ve never used hard wax before, practice on your legs or arms.

The consistency is important, if it’s not melted enough you can’t apply it easily. It’s too melted it will be messy. If it’s too hot it will burn your skin.

Also,

Letting it harden sufficiently on the skin is extremely important.

If the wax is too soft, it can’t be pulled off with the hairs, it will stick to the skin instead of pulling hairs out from their follicles.

Last but not least, this hard wax kit for face is the perfect alternative to the best facial wax strips because it’s perfect for sensitive skin, as well.

It doesn’t irritate or damage the skin and it’s an amazing wax for hair removal, as long as you use it properly.

6. Cirepil Wax Beads

If you want to go beyond waxing your face, if you want the best hard wax kit that can be used on the face and the entire body, these wax beads from Cirepil are awesome.

I also recommended this kit when talking about a DIY Brazilian wax tutorial.

When it comes to hard wax that is pretty easy to use once you get used to it, that causes minimum irritation, that doesn’t inflict unnecessary pain and that works on all types of hairs, then this is my top recommendations.

7. Anlome Was Strips

One thing you should know about these strips is that they’re very big. These are big strips that measure 3.5 x 7 inches.

If they’re so big than why am I recommending them for facial waxing where we need small strips?

Well, if you’re disposed to cut these strips so that they can be used for waxing eyebrows or for upper lip hair removal or to remove hair from the chin, jaw or sideburns, then you should definitely pay attention to these Anlome Was Strips.

The price is really cheap. I don’t think that you can get a better deal than what Anlome  offers.

We get 18 double-sided strips so 36 wax strips for the arms, legs, armpits, face, bikini, etc.

They also include 2 paraffin oil bags for removing the residues.

Their instructions that are written on the box are also the easiest to follow. If you’re a beginner, you’re going to love these. If you’re an experienced waxer, you’re going to love these.

8. Sally Hansen Insta 24, Wax Strips for Face & Bikini

These are some of the most popular wax strips for face. Since they’re so popular, it’s only logical that we should include them in this article for the best facial wax strips.

However, they’re not exactly my favorite. I don’t like them as much as I like Veet or Nad’s. Veet facial wax strips still remain my favorite after trying many other manufacturers.

On the other hand, I believe that Nad’s has some of the best prices. My recommendation would be to try those two manufacturers first and then maybe consider Sally Hansen.

Or try the Cirepil Wax Beads if you want hard wax that can be used for the whole body, as one of the best bikini hair removal products, and for facial hair removal from the follicles with minimum irritation.

Sally Hansen facial wax strips can also be used on the bikini area.

However, the hairs in the bikini area are a lot coarser than our facial hair. Maybe you can use them to do some touch-ups if your hairs are on the thinner side. But if you have dark coarse hairs, then I’m pretty sure that these strips don’t have a wax that’s strong enough for pubic hair.

We get 8 small strips for facial hair removal. The package also includes 4 medium strips. This product also comes with 3 ouch-relief numbing wipes and 4 azulene oil finishing wipes for removing residues.

9. Nad’s Eyebrow Wax Strips

You can definitely use any of the above best facial wax strips to shape your eyebrows, too.

However, these are specifically designed just for our eyebrow area. What’s not to love?

The difference is that each strip has some lines that indicate where you should cut the strip based on the eyebrows section that you want hairs pulled from.

We get two sections: middle brow and eyebrow. Thus, that’s the only thing that truly makes these Nad’s Eyebrow Wax Strips different from all of the above products.

But there are multiple lines where you can cut the strips based on the shape that you’re looking for. It’s still very nice that we can achieve salon-quality eyebrow shapes in the comfort of our home: s-shaped, straight, steep arch, arched, rounded. It works for everything.

The package includes 6 eyebrow wax strips, 6 post calming oil wipes, and 1 skin shield powder.

The strips are certainly a lot quicker than tweezing. If you learn how to use them properly, you’ll be shaping your eyebrows in a couple of minutes.

How to Use the Facial Wax Strips to Pull All the Hairs Out

how to use facial wax strips

1. Every package contains double sided wax strips.

You have to set them apart in order to use them.

To do that, rub the double sided strip between your hands to get them heated. Then pull them apart.

2. Apply the strip in the direction of the hair growth and massage it a little in the same direction.

3. Then pull it quickly and swiftly in the opposite direction. That’s it.

Remove your facial hair in the evening and in the morning you’re going to look spectacular. I always love that first morning when I see that my upper lip hair is all gone.

If you haven’t used wax for facial hair removal ever before, maybe it would be better if you’d ask a friend to do the pulling for you.

Also:

You shouldn’t be afraid of the pain. Usually, it’s not that bad. As soon as you pull quickly you’re going to feel a sting.

Reasons for Using Wax Strips for Face

First and foremost:

They offer smooth skin that lasts between two weeks up to a month. A tweezer does the same but at a much slower pace. This method is really fast.

If you already use hard wax to remove hair from your body there’s no reason to buy the best wax strips for face.

Secondly:

They represent an incredibly easy and efficient method for removing facial hair. I only remove my upper lip and it takes under 2 minutes to make it silky smooth without any 5 o’clock shadow.

Thirdly:

They can be used to remove peach fuzz as well as coarse hairs. And from the entire face, including upper lip hair removal, sideburns, chin, and so on. I wouldn’t use them for the eyebrows, I’ll stick to my tweezer for that.

I use:

Two double sided strips during each upper lip hair removal session, which takes place once every two weeks. Otherwise said, I use 4 facial wax strips, 2 on each half of my upper lip.

The package I buy contains 10 , meaning that I buy one every two and a half months, which reminds me of another strong reason for using them.

It’s a cheap hair removal method.

Also, you can carry them with you everywhere you go. They don’t take up a lot of space at all.

Why I Love Wax Strips for Face

Do you want to know why I started searching for the best facial wax strips?

It happened as soon as a I realized that using a tweezer to remove my upper lip once every two weeks was basically horrible. I was only removing my upper lip hair and even so it was still becoming a little annoying.

I was tired of plucking a few hairs at a time and that’s when the salvation came. A friend of mine suggested that I should try waxing with cold strips.

I loved them from the first try. To my surprise, I also had the courage to pull each strip quickly in a swift motion.

That’s actually the whole secret. If you do that, there won’t be many hairs left behind.

Even more:

You can use them whether you have peach fuzz or coarse hairs. Waxing can be a bit harsh on the skin, facial skin is really sensitive for some more than for others, so you should carefully sooth the irritation once the hair removal is complete. Moisturize it each time.

If you have really sensitive skin, you should also use an aloe vera gel immediately post-waxing and then apply a moisturizer.

For women with really sensitive skin and who are afraid of breakouts, I recommend threading. It’s more gentle on the skin but you need to find a threading salon. Otherwise, using the best facial wax strips is definitely an option to try and maybe love.
